Product description
There is no reference for al-Baqillani regarding the attribution of the book "Inimitability of the Quran." The book was not known to Judge Abu Bakr al-Baqillani (who died in 403 AH). It is said to have been called "Inimitability of the Quran" one hundred years after his death, with many of his followers paying attention to listing his works; then the book in our hands was attributed to him at the end of the sixth century AH, and a few scholars over the centuries examined it. It was printed in Cairo in 1315 AH, and its fame spread, and researchers relied on it as being attributed to him.
This detailed study aims to correct this historical scientific error and to return the book to its rightful owner, Judge Abu Bakr al-Lasqi al-Razi (who died in 425 AH, approximately), based on his ancient manuscript in the Dar al-Kutub al-Zahiriyah in Damascus.
It has become clear from studying its texts and comparing them with similar works by al-Baqillani that it does not belong to him; and from tracing its history through time, it became evident that its attribution to him did not receive the proper recognition. After examining all known manuscripts, most of them are not attributed; and those attributed to al-Baqillani or Abdul Qahir al-Jurjani were originally uncredited, and the attribution was added later.
