Product description

Authored by Professor Dr. Hakamet Bashir Yasin Introduction In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon those who follow him. This book is a link between two long important series: the first: a historical series that includes incidents, events, and calamities that affected books and libraries. The second: an investigative series that includes ways to benefit from the existing heritage and utilize it to revive lost books, parts, and copies from their original sources, accompanied by a list of the names of the lost books. It also includes a method for preserving the Islamic library in the smallest container carried by hand using the latest inventions. What I have recorded of events and incidents that affected the Islamic and Arab book does not mean that it has been buried, erased, or annihilated, and that it is impossible to discover and revive all of it. No, it is preserved within the depths of the existing books that are in our hands, and its texts are scattered within their folds. These books were classified by eminent preservers, narrators, and transmitters, and their books, which they dedicated their lives to categorizing, contain what they received of sciences and knowledge. They are considered remarkable civilizational landmarks stored in precious and high-quality repositories, containing numerous books, copies, and parts. Each of these books is a treasury of valuable scientific writings, and they are from the books of the Salaf (predecessors). Among these repositories are books narrated with isnad (chain of transmission), and encyclopedic books that appeared in the sixth Hijri century and continued into the tenth and beyond. The books narrated with isnad across various sciences show that their authors benefited from their predecessors and transmitted many texts from the books of the Salaf, some of which are lost and some are still present, as well as texts from the authors themselves in their books.
