The Preservation of Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani Verified by: Dr. Maher Al-Fahl Volume * 569 pages, Shamua paper Introduction In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate All praise be to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, ask for His forgiveness, and seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves. Whom Allah guides, there is no misleader for him, and whom He misguides, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, His trustworthy on His revelation, His chosen among His creation, and His ambassador between Him and His servants. He was sent with the straight religion and the upright methodology. Allah sent him as a mercy to the worlds, and as a leader for the righteous, and as a proof for all creatures. (O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims) [Al-Imran: 102]. O people, fear your Lord who created you from a single soul and created from it its mate, and spread from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed, Allah is ever Watchful over you [An-Nisa: 1]. O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, then indeed he has attained a great victory [Al-Ahzab: 70-71]. As for what follows: I praise Allah, first and last, openly and secretly, for enabling me to realize this concise book, *Buloogh Al-Marām min Adillat Al-Ahkam*, which has passed years in its verification; I repeatedly worked on it at different intervals until I completed the collection of manuscripts, and when I gathered them with Allah’s blessing and the motivation to comment on its hadiths and judge their authenticity and weakness, I studied the book thoroughly, reviewing it repeatedly to avoid errors. I have made the verification of the book a divine act, and it is permissible for every Muslim to print it, provided they adhere to the text. I dedicated the book to the soul of my mother, may Allah have mercy on her, and I ask Allah to make it in her good deeds’ scale on the day when good deeds are few and sighs are many, the day of regret. *Buloogh Al-Marām* from the books that concern the beginner student and the seasoned scholar alike, as its hadiths are related to jurisprudence; and jurisprudence is important, it is the fruit of Islamic sciences. Nothing worships Allah like jurisprudence, as Al-Zuhri said, and as Al-Raghib Al-Isfahani said: “There is no incident in the universe among creation except that it needs jurisprudence, because it arranges the righteousness of the world and religion.” The book is from the concise texts, not too long nor too short, and despite its small size and important subject, it is easy to memorize. Scholars have always encouraged students to memorize, and the great scholar Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Khudairi, may Allah preserve him, says: “A student of knowledge must have a memorization stockpile.” Many students and scholars have memorized this book since its authorship until today. Scholars have paid attention to it in teaching and explanation; their care for it has increased over time, and some of its explanations have become a school for people. All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar compiled and authored, and his name appears in this book as in his other works. He relied on predecessors in the hadiths, as many scholars have written about the hadiths of rulings. The Hafiz benefited greatly from selecting hadiths from *Al-Ilmam* by Ibn Daqiq Al-'Id, from *Al-Muharrar* by Ibn Abdul Hadi, and he referred in this book to some of his other works, including his valuable *Fath Al-Bari* explaining Sahih Al-Bukhari. This indicates that he benefited from the wealth of knowledge he provided to the nation of Muhammad. It is well known to serious researchers and many people the scholarly status of Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, as he was endowed with abundant intellect and engaged in beneficial sciences. His dedication to time and effort in working beneficially is evident from the abundant scientific contributions he offered, making his books indispensable for researchers. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar was blessed by Allah with a remarkable personality that combined seriousness, piety, and good conduct. He was a model of a rare scholarly personality. Evidence of this is his books, which spread among people worldwide. His books traveled in his time like the sun, and all this motivated the work on this book as a sincere advice to the Ummah, respecting its heritage, and defending its giants against distortion, thus building its pride and glory. My effort was not solely on verifying the text; I also judged the hadiths and commented on what deserved commentary, without shortening or prolonging. I presented the book with a moderate study indicating the biography of Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, then discussing his methodology in *Buloogh Al-Marām*, then the manuscript copies with their advantages and disadvantages, then explaining my approach in verifying the book. I did not prepare detailed indexes because the book is a concise text meant for memorization. Finally, I present *Buloogh Al-Marām* from *Adillat Al-Ahkam* by Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani, to the lovers of the chosen one, Allah’s Messenger, who walk on his guidance and hope for his intercession on the Day of Judgment. I have served it with efforts equal to my attachment to the Sunnah of our Prophet, peace be upon him, and I have exerted all my effort, money, and time for it, without sparing any effort. The time I spent on it was blessed, and I advise my brothers, preservers of the two revelations, to pay utmost attention to memorizing the Qur'an, for it is the key to knowledge. Al-Diya’ Al-Maqdisi said about one of his teachers: “And he advised me before my travel: ‘Read the Qur'an as much as you can, and do not leave it, for whatever you read will make it easier for you to find what you seek.’” He said: I saw that and tried it many times. When I read a lot, it became easier for me to hear and write hadiths; when I did not read, it was not easy for me. And the more a person advances in the Qur'an, the more he advances in knowledge. In conclusion, I thank my loyal brothers: Sheikh Ahmed Tarek Abdul Hamid Al-Qaisi and Sheikh Muhammad Saad Saud Al-Taie, for their major role in correcting printing experiences and reviewing the book. I ask Allah to make them among the heirs who inherit Al-Firdaws. And I do not forget to thank and pray for my brothers from my father and mother: Taha Abu Osama, Thamer Abu Omar, and Salim Abu Abdullah, who supported me in my travels and pursuit of knowledge and its dissemination. I pray Allah to bless their lifespans and keep their righteous deeds on earth blessed and beneficial. I repeat my praise and thanks to my Lord, whose blessings are only renewed by more blessings. And this is from Maher Yasin Al-Fahl, Sheikh of the Dar Al-Hadith in Iraq, Professor of Hadith and Comparative Jurisprudence, Faculty of Islamic Sciences - University of Anbar 1st Muharram 1435 AH, from the Hajj of the Beloved, peace be upon him.
