Isra'iliyyat and topics:
The suggestion was for the book's title to be: "Isra'iliyyat in Tafsir books," but I saw that I should include the Isra'iliyyat and the topics also in Tafsir books, for they contain topics that are dangerous to Islam and the Prophet (peace be upon him). Among them: those resulting from political, religious, and sectarian disagreements; and among them are those fabricated by people who claimed—woe to what they claimed—that they serve Islam and desire it, such as: fabricated hadiths about the virtues of the Qur'an, the virtues of surahs, and the virtues of individuals, times, and places.
As for my methodology in this book (Isra'iliyyat and topics): I will present the original research with introductions in which I clarify the meaning of Tafsir and Ta'wil, the meaning of Isra'iliyyat, what is meant by topics, and what methodology should be followed in interpreting the Qur'an. Then I will review the efforts made by the preservers of Hadith and the imams of criticism, correction, and critique, in alerting to fabricated and Isra'iliyyat in Tafsir books. After that, I will review the most famous books of Tafsir by narration, then I will proceed to what I aimed for, which is: clarifying the Isra'iliyyat and exposing the fabricated topics in Tafsir books, whether they are exclusive to Tafsir by narration, or combined with other types, or dominated by Tafsir by opinion and ijtihad.
