Old ink notebook of literature and language Author: Aref Hajwa Publishers for research and publishing He practiced Arabic calligraphy for a long time, and his father practiced sewing. And you find him quoting someone saying: "Calligraphers and tailors eat from the depths of their eyes," then you find him quoting various sayings about calligraphy and calligraphers, and about sewing and tailors, throughout the book. The author talks about what has stirred in the events of time upon his skin, so much so that his skin trembled from it. The chapters of this book were written thirty years ago in London, then refined and new chapters were added in Palestine and Istanbul. In the book, there is a journey through language and literature; it contains the playfulness of a young man in his mid-thirties, and it contains bitterness that must seep into the heart of an old man seeing seventy roaring before his eyes. "Old ink" includes stories of poets and writers, old and new, Arabs and non-Arabs. It is a book of anecdotes, but the author is present in every anecdote, expressing his opinion and talking about what he feels. The author complains about London and teases it, as he is a foreigner living on the margins. He also complains about Istanbul and talks about its Arabs and what they face, and sheds a cold tear for Palestine, and the old man's tear is cold. The most sincere satire poetry, and the most sincere satirists poets, and the book has opened its chest for them and their poetry.
