Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Hamad
This book briefly addresses vital issues around which controversy is common, and about which ignorance of Islam's stance is widespread, especially among some extremists or those who have not studied the truths of Islam, nor referred to its authentic sources that clarify these issues, nor to its glorious history that provides a clear picture of how Muslims were characterized by justice and mercy, and how the spirit of Islam and its higher objectives were applied to the reality of life and people.
The author divided his book into six sections:
First section: Peace, in which he discussed the frequent mention of the word peace in Sharia, and how Islam preserves wealth and lives, guarantees freedoms, and regulates them.
Second section: Tolerance, where he addressed the concept of tolerance, its importance, and that tolerance in Islam is born from reforming thinking and noble morals. Islam established the general principles of tolerance. He also discussed the stance of the just Islamic jurists and rulers on tolerance, and history’s testimony to Muslims’ tolerance.
Third section: Coercion, where he explained the concept of coercion, Islam’s stance towards opponents, the absence of coercion in entering Islam, and non-Muslims’ testimony to Muslims’ tolerance.
Fourth section: Violence, in which he addressed the concept of violence, Islam’s position on it, and examples of the Prophet’s -peace be upon him- gentleness towards opponents.
Fifth section: Jihad, through which he explained the concept of jihad, its reality, its types, the meaning of fighting in the cause of Allah, jihad in the prophetic biography, the etiquette of war in Islam, and examples of Muslim morals in jihad.
Sixth section: Terrorism, where he discussed the concept of terrorism in language, its meaning in the general international terminology, Islam’s stance on terrorism, and refuted the confusion that accuses Islam and Muslims of terrorism.
The book is rich with quotations, evidence, Islamic, historical, and realistic proofs. It also adopts a language far from provocation or defeatism.
