Yusuf Khalaf Al-Eisaawi Title: The Impact of Arabic in Deriving Jurisprudential Rules from the Prophetic Sunnah Author: Dr. Yusuf bin Khalaf Al-Eisaawi Pages: 552 Edition: Dar Ibn Al-Jawzi Size: 17x24 cm Cover: Hardcover The Impact of Arabic in Deriving Jurisprudential Rules from the Prophetic Sunnah - Dr. Yusuf bin Khalaf Al-Eisaawi This book is one of the foundational texts that clearly illustrates the direct relationship between the Arabic language and Islamic sciences. This topic was the subject of a thesis submitted by the researcher to obtain a doctorate degree, in which he revealed how much Islamic scholars benefit from this noble language, especially when deriving rulings and their leniency when distinguished scholars differ. The author divided his thesis into three chapters and a conclusion: In the first chapter: Jurisprudential and foundational contents and the relationship between Arabic and Islamic sciences, highlighting the importance of the Arabic language as a ladder to understanding the speech of the Lawgiver and as a bridge to metaphorical language in the Qur'an and Sunnah. He also mentioned scholars’ opinions on this matter. In the second chapter: "The Impact of Linguistic Indication in Deriving Jurisprudential Rules," discussing the indication of linguistic expressions and what falls under and branches from it of foundational and jurisprudential issues. In the third chapter: "The Impact of Grammatical Indication in Deriving Jurisprudential Rules," explaining the indication of particles of meaning, structural indication, and grammatical parsing, and the jurisprudential issues that branch from it. The conclusion summarized the most important results, totaling 32 points, which are the core of the thesis. The thesis appears to be a distinguished scientific effort demonstrating the strong interaction between the Arabic language and Islamic sciences. Indicative of the effort made by the author is the numerous references used in the thesis, totaling 716 references. It is worth mentioning that the author himself also addressed in his master's thesis the "Impact of Linguistic and Grammatical Indication in Deriving Creedal Rulings from the Holy Qur'an." A beautiful Saudi edition.
