Abdul Rahman Yusuf Al-Rahmah Imam Abdul Aziz bin Baz Introduction to the third edition Praise be to Allah, the most deserving of praise and the most complete, and blessings and peace be upon His Prophet, Messenger, and chosen one, Muhammad bin Abdullah, and upon his family, companions, and those who follow them. After: It is with great joy, happiness, and pride that I present to the honorable reader the third revised and expanded edition of my book "Al-Injaz" in the biography of Imam Abdul Aziz bin Baz — may Allah have mercy on him and elevate his rank in Jannat al-Firdaws — after its copies ran out and it became rare, and after many sincere scholars insisted on reprinting, reviving, publishing, and circulating it among people. This required me to review it with insight, fairness, truthfulness, and the measure of moderation, which compelled me to add some additions and enhancements, clarify some ambiguous and vague matters, address some previous oversights, and correct what needed correction from errors and misconceptions, so that the book in its new form would, God willing, be closer to perfection and farther from defect and error. I exerted effort in all of that according to my ability and strength, and my success is only from Allah. I rely on Him and turn to Him. I have made this third edition a pure and exclusive right for my righteous brothers at Dar Al-Jawzi in Dammam — a city full of beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds. May Allah grant them success and guidance, and assist their staff and officials in publishing beneficial books and valuable writings. A warning to every alert person: I would like to point out the importance of adhering to the method of fairness, moderation, and kindness that our noble Sheikh Imam Abdul Aziz bin Baz — may Allah have mercy on him — followed and called people to. He was among the leaders of guidance, calling to all that is good, committed to the prophetic methodology in knowledge, action, and الدعوة (call to Islam) with wisdom and good admonition. His moderation and balanced approach are the desired example for all scholars and callers to emulate and follow, instead of fighting, slandering, insulting, backbiting, and gossiping. And I, in this context, bear witness before Allah that I have been influenced by him in this regard, and I declare that I am following, with Allah’s success and guidance, his methodology, taking him as a role model in this beneficial goodness, righteous work, and avoiding harm and excess in speech, baseless suspicion, and false accusations rooted in corruption and flawed thinking and perception. For that approach is far removed from the light of Prophethood, the guidance of scholars, and the methodology of our righteous predecessors from the Salaf. Furthermore, I advise myself and my fellow students of knowledge to avoid hastiness, recklessness, frivolity, and rushing in issuing judgments, both generally and specifically, about people, especially the righteous and sincere scholars and callers who deserve respect and are more deserving of such. What I have truly learned from my complete adherence to our Sheikh Imam Abdul Aziz bin Baz — may Allah have mercy on him — over nearly eight decades is that I have benefited greatly from his vast knowledge, beautiful character, generous and gentle manners, profound wisdom, and noble الدعوة (call to Islam). May Allah reward him abundantly, and may His mercy encompass him. What excellent benefits he left us, and how pure his legacies are.
