Authored by Fawzan Suleiman Faisal Al-Fawzan Part of the introduction: Vigilance for those who take heed from what has been mentioned about the fire and its people In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate All praise be to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, and ask His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and from our bad deeds. Whom Allah guides, there is none to misguide him, and whom He misguides, there is none to guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May Allah send peace and blessings upon him, his family, and all his companions. To proceed: After I finished composing my book about Paradise titled "And the Clouds Have Risen in Describing the Abode of Peace," I resolved to write a book about the fire, following the guidance of Allah’s Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Whoever reflects on Allah’s Book finds that it urges the performance of good deeds, explaining their reward and benefits, so that we increase in them; and it clarifies the sins, their consequences, and effects, so that we beware of them and avoid them. It also describes Paradise, its blessings, and eternal success, so that we work towards it; and it describes the fire, its torment, and everlasting disgrace, so that we abstain from deeds that lead to it. Similarly, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) follows this pattern. Therefore, I composed this book which you hold, my brother reader, and made it moderate between the lengthy, tiresome book and the brief, incomplete one. Its success is from Allah alone. Any error, forgetfulness, slip, or oversight is from me and Satan, and Allah and His Messenger are free from it. My method in composing it is as follows: **Chapter One:** First Section: Definition of the fire. Second Section: Paradise and the fire are created. Third Section: Names of the fire. Fourth Section: The location of the fire. Fifth Section: The gates of the fire. Sixth Section: The keepers of the fire and its attendants. Seventh Section: Fuel of the fire. **Chapter Two:** First Section: Fear of the fire, may Allah protect us from it. Second Section: Seeking refuge from the fire. Third Section: Mention of some who saw the fire in a dream. Fourth Section: The effect of the fire on the worldly life and its people. Fifth Section: Those who call to the fire. Sixth Section: The majority of the inhabitants of the fire are women. Seventh Section: Every people follow their leader. **Chapter Three:** First Section: Mention of the inhabitants of Hell. Second Section: The disputes among the people of the fire, because they will see each other. Third Section: The greatest torment of the inhabitants of the fire. Fourth Section: The least punishment among the inhabitants of the fire. Fifth Section: The first to be cast into the fire. Sixth Section: Mention of the first to exit from the fire and the last to leave it. Seventh Section: The calling of the inhabitants of the fire to the inhabitants of Paradise and vice versa. Eighth Section: Mention of the entry of the fire.
