He explained the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah in this matter, supporting it with evidence from the Book and the Sunnah and the sayings of the righteous predecessors from the Companions and the Tabi‘un. Then he responded to those who disagreed with them, clarifying their sayings and the foolishness of their minds, to the extent that he dedicated two full chapters, one to respond to the Jabriyah and the other to respond to the Qadariyah. This is in addition to responding to them and others within the book.
