The manners of the garden of the lovers

The Imam the حافظ Abu Abdullah Shams al-Din Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, known as Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, is among the highest ranks of scholars in the quality of classification and abundance of authorship. Among his works is the book "Rawdat al-Muhibbin" and "Nuzhat al-Mushtaqin," which is a book containing twenty-nine chapters on establishing peace between desire and reason. When peace is established between them, it becomes easy for the servant to fight the soul and Satan. The work in the refinement was carried out according to a methodology summarized as follows: documenting the words of the author without alteration or addition; maintaining the order of the original texts without precedence or delay; limiting to the core idea intended and deleting tangential remarks while ensuring the context is presented coherently; concise presentation of sayings, evidence, discussions, definitions, and similar; documenting all chapter and section titles even if many parts were omitted; and including a list at the end of the refinement of benefits and selected phrases that appeared in the original but were not included in the refinement due to their unsuitability to the context or because they appeared in a text that did not meet the refinement’s conditions.
