Authored by Khalid Muhammad Al-Baidhani Al-Harbi Part of the introduction, selected from the explanations of the book of Tawhid And Sheikh Muqbil Al-Wadi’i (may Allah have mercy on him, died 1422 AH) said in his book "Al-Muqtarah fi Ajwibat Ba’d As'ilat Al-Mustalah" (p. 138): (And among the valuable books that one cannot do without is Muslim's book "Fath Al-Majid Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid"), ("Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab - may Allah have mercy on him), and he also said in the previous reference (1/12): It is one of the greatest writings of the reforming Imam Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab. And due to the great status of the book of Tawhid, I compiled this book and named it "Al-Muntaqa min Shurooh Kitab Al-Tawhid". The reason for my authorship of this book: First, the distinguished nature of the book of Tawhid in explaining Tawhid, its proofs, virtues, fundamentals, causes, and what contradicts it from shirk or weakens it, and what completes and perfects it. Second, gathering scattered words of the commentators from different books in one place to facilitate understanding of the issue and clarify its evidence. Third, easing the effort for the researcher or reader in reviewing the words of scholars and collecting their statements on the issue, which makes it easier to know their opinions and preferences, and what they mention of conditions and others. I selected it from twelve books characterized by mentioning issues and benefits that others did not mention, as follows: 1 - The book "Taysir Al-Aziz Al-Hamid fi Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Suleiman ibn Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1233 AH). Since this book is the main reference for everyone who explains the book of Tawhid, and because of the author's knowledge, thoroughness, and comprehensiveness, and due to his precedence over others in time and knowledge, I did not delete anything from it and made it the main reference in this book. 2 - The book "Fath Al-Majid li Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Abdul Rahman ibn Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1285 AH). 3 - "Qurrat A’yun Al-Muwahhidin" by Sheikh Abdul Rahman ibn Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1285 AH). 4 - The book "Al-Qawl Al-Sadid Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Abdul Rahman, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1376 AH). 5 - The marginal notes on the book of Tawhid by Sheikh Abdul Rahman ibn Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1392 AH). 6 - Explanation of the book of Tawhid by Sheikh Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1420 AH). 7 - "Al-Qawl Al-Mufid ‘ala Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1421 AH). 8 - Benefits from the explanation of Sheikh Abdullah ibn Abdul Rahman ibn Jibreen, may Allah have mercy on him (died 1430 AH). 9 - Explanation of the book of Tawhid by Sheikh Abdul Rahman ibn Nasser Al-Barrak, may Allah preserve him, based on listening to his explanation. 10 - "I’aanat Al-Mustafeed bi Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Saleh ibn Fawzan Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him. 11 - "Al-Mulakhkhas fi Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Saleh ibn Fawzan Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him. 12 - "Al-Tamheed li Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid" by Sheikh Saleh ibn Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, may Allah preserve him. My work on the book was as follows: - I adjusted the text of the book according to what was available to me from printed copies. - I collected the explanations from the aforementioned books and grouped their explanations in one place, whether related to a chapter, an interpretation of a verse, or explanation of a hadith, to make it easier for the reader and clarify the issue and its evidence. - I presented it in chronological order based on the death dates, and arranged it as previously mentioned in the list of explanations of the book. - I was careful to avoid repetition, attributing the benefit to the first person who said it, and I only repeated if necessary for elaboration, mentioning a condition, explaining the evidence, or preference for a statement, or if the beginning and end of the speech are connected, as omitting repetitions could cut off the speech and lead to misunderstanding. - Everything that comes after (said Sheikh [so-and-so]) is attributed to him, and (I said) is also his until the statement ends with mentioning another scholar's opinion. - Anything in the book with the phrase "said Sheikh" is from my own words and my clarification, which was necessary, and also the introduction to the hadith explanation is from my own clarification. - I provided detailed references for the Hadiths of the book of Tawhid, being careful to cite the early scholars' judgments and any faults if present. Our Sheikh Ibn Baz, may Allah have mercy on him, said: All the hadiths in "Kitab Al-Tawhid" are good, with supporting evidence, and are not weak. The author took care of them, may Allah have mercy on him. And Sheikh Saleh Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, said: The sheikh only included authentic hadiths, or those with good chain of narration, or weak but with supporting evidence, or those that fall under a general principle supported by the Qur'an and Sunnah, as translated by the sheikh in the chapters of the book "I’aanat Al-Mustafeed". I say: The number of hadiths and reports mentioned by Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab is 162, distributed as follows: Agreed upon (35), Al-Bukhari (14), Muslim (20), Other than them from Musnad Imam Ahmad, Al-Muwatta, Sunan, Musannafat, and others (93). Finally: I ask Allah to accept this work, benefit its author, reader, and publisher as it benefited its origin, and to make us among the people of pure Tawhid, and to cause us to die upon it. And our last supplication is: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions.
