Introduction
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions altogether.
And after:
Allah the Almighty said: "Indeed, the religion with Allah is Islam" [Al-Imran: 19].
And Allah the Almighty said: "And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers" [Al-Imran: 85].
Allah has chosen this religion to remain until Allah inherits the earth and whoever has legislated this religion as easy, permissive, and facilitated, to suit the condition of those responsible over ages, eras, and places, and across different peoples and circumstances.
One of the principles of Islamic law is the principle of ease and simplicity, and the prevention of hardship in legal rulings, and the removal of difficulty from those obliged.
Therefore, one of the fundamental rules of this law is the major principle: "Hardship brings about ease," which is based on: the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of His Messenger, and the consensus of Muslims — as will be explained.
This legal rule encompasses many rulings that are countless, and for this reason, I limited the research and made it specific to (bodily acts of worship), which are: purity, prayer, and fasting.
Thus, the title of the research became:
"Islamic Jurisprudential Applications of the Rule: 'Hardship Brings Ease' in Bodily Acts of Worship" (1).
(1) When preparing for publication, I saw fit to name it: "Ease in Bodily Acts of Worship."
