After, one of the most important books of the Shafi’is is the explanation of Al-Manhaj by Sheikh Islam Zakariya Al-Ansari, may Allah have mercy on him, in which he summarized the book Al-Manhaj by Al-Nawawi, then expanded and clarified his explanation of it, making it truly a methodology in its brevity and explanation. From here, many annotations and comments have been made on it, and among the most important of these annotations is the commentary of Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Barmawi, may Allah have mercy on him, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar Mosque, which was the commentary from which Al-‘Amil, Al-Bujairami, and others quoted. We are pleased to present to you the printing of this commentary for the first time, verified based on three manuscript copies, one of which belongs to the author’s son, Ahmed bin Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Barmawi. The researcher—may Allah reward him well—reviewed the sources from which Sheikh Al-Barmawi quoted, such as Al-Tuhfa, Al-Nihaya, Sharh Al-Rawd, and other major books of the Shafi’is, until the book was presented in this elegant form. We ask Allah to benefit from it, as He benefited from its original, for He is the guardian of that and capable of it.
