Authorship / Salim Eid Al-Hilali Introduction of the book Indeed, all praise is for Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and from our bad deeds. Whomever Allah guides, there is no misleader for him, and whomever He misguides, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. As for what follows: Indeed, for the believers, the people of Allah’s love, there is a blessing, joy, and happiness in Allah that no one can find except those who have tasted the flavor of faith. So whoever has tasted it, has known, and whoever has known, has drawn from the river of pure love that Allah has ignited in the hearts of His friends. He has made it flow as springs within their limbs, and they have taken righteous deeds and good speech as ships that sail them toward the sweetness of faith. And do not think that the same knowledge and conviction that occur in the heart, nor the love that occurs in the heart, are the sweetness of faith. Indeed, the love of Allah is one thing, and what results from His remembrance is another. Then the pleasure that results from that is a third thing, and this is a consequence and a fruit, and it is necessary. These are interconnected matters, so sweetness and pleasure are only found with love and tasting.
