Dr. Ali Saad Al-Duwaihi Part of the introduction of the explanation Since the logical introduction that Ibn Qudamah, may Allah have mercy on him, included is of utmost importance due to what Al-Muwafiq, may Allah have mercy on him, emphasized regarding mentioning what pertains to the topics of "Hadd" and "Al-Burhan," and these are two fundamental subjects that scholars of usul (principles of Islamic jurisprudence) have extensively discussed in their books, especially when talking about defining usul (fundamental concepts) and establishing issues related to the reason in standard discussions. I have resolved — seeking help from Allah, the Most High, alone — to explain it in a manner that encompasses its chain of reasoning and clarifies its ambiguities, in a book titled: "Explanation of the Logical Introduction in the Al-Quds Garden," based on a scientific methodology that relies on the following principles: 1 - To encompass all the phrases of the author, may Allah have mercy on him, with explanation and clarification, without neglecting any of those phrases. 2 - To place the text of the author, may Allah have mercy on him, at the top of the page, and the explanation below it after separating them with a line. 3 - To diacritically mark the phrases of the author, may Allah have mercy on him, with tashkeel (diacritical marks) to facilitate correct reading. 4 - To place the words of the author, may Allah have mercy on him, within parentheses in red ink, then explain them in black ink. 5 - To be concise in the explanation, in a way that it is most likely that the meaning has become clear without the need for verbosity and elaboration. 6 - To pay attention to mentioning the reference of pronouns and demonstrative words wherever the author’s phrase, may Allah have mercy on him, contains them, as knowing their reference clarifies the meaning and reveals the intended message. 7 - To focus on linguistic aspects — as much as the need necessitates — whenever necessary in my view. 8 - To alert to what the context necessarily requires to be pointed out from the phrases of the author, may Allah have mercy on him. 9 - To be keen on providing illustrative examples if the situation demands, in order to make the issue more understandable. 10 - To place titles in the middle of the page between double brackets, with two main purposes: First: To separate parts of the discussion from each other so that the reader is not confused. Second: To clearly specify the subject of the issue being researched and examined. 11 - To attribute the Noble Qur’anic verses that the author, may Allah have mercy on him, cited and that appeared during the explanation to their locations in the Surahs of the Book of Allah, with clarification of the ruling. 12 - To cite the noble Hadiths in the margin, if they are not in Sahih al-Bukhari or Sahih Muslim. 13 - To translate the notable figures mentioned during the explanation.
