Authorship Farih Saleh Al-Buhail Introduction Praise be to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, and guide us. We seek His forgiveness and repent to Him. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and the evil of our deeds. Whom Allah guides, there is no misleader; and whom He misguides, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him abundantly. Afterward, Indeed, the actions have said that before Islam, women were humiliated among the Arabs and others, as they lived in ignorant Jahiliyyah, blind misguidance. When one of them was given the news of a daughter, the earth would narrow upon him, his condition would worsen, his face darken, and he would be struck with grief and depression, and he would swallow his anger from the bad news he received. He would be between two options: either to keep her and raise her in shame, disgrace, and hatred, or to kill her by digging a hole in the ground and burying her alive, and Allah's refuge. Allah, the Almighty, said about their state before Islam: "And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked for what sin she was killed" [At-Takweer: 8-9]. And He, the Most High, said in Surah An-Nahl, verses 58-59: "And when one of them is given good news of [the birth of] a girl, his face becomes dark, and he is filled with grief. He hides himself from the people because of the bad news he has received. Should he keep it with disgrace or bury it in the ground? Evil is what they judge" [An-Nahl: 58-59]. And He, the Most Glorious, said in Surah Az-Zukhruf: "And when one of them is given good news of what Allah has made [for] him of a child, his face becomes dark, and he is filled with grief" [Az-Zukhruf: 17]. When Islam came with the mission of Allah, the Most High, the bearer of glad tidings and warning, our Prophet Muhammad, who brought light to darkness, knowledge from ignorance, and who Allah brought out people from darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge, and from misguidance to guidance, He honored women, raised their status and dignity, protected their rights, and preserved their honor, chastity, virtue, and their nobility as mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and neighbors. He rewarded those who raised and educated them well with Paradise, promising that they would be a shield from the Fire. But, unfortunately, the Jahiliyyah attitude towards women returned about a century and a half ago in another form, which is deviation from Islamic manners, divine teachings, and prophetic morals, into Jahiliyyah of unveiling and revealing, destroying honor, chastity, and virtue, and violating sanctities and mixing with foreign men without shame before Allah or shame before people. Women have become despised and degraded among ravenous wolves, unable to repel touches, with no guardian or protector from opponents. This is one of the greatest calamities, major disasters, and destructive shocks that kill off the zeal for sanctities, weaken Muslims, destroy religion, and cause them to forget Allah and the Hereafter. When the zealous scholars of Islam saw what had befallen Muslims of disasters and calamities, they hastened to give advice to all Muslims and their rulers, warning them of their consequences and evil, and not to be deceived by the adornments of doubts, deception, and misguidance. They urged them to adhere firmly to the religion, to cling to it with teeth, and not to drift toward these destructive principles and catastrophic ignorance, which the followers of them seek to eliminate the religion of Muhammad, peace be upon him. They used various forms of clarification, warning against this deadly disease and the sickly cause. Some clarified with their tongues, others with their pens, some with both, and some dedicated a special treatise to this subject. Many writings on this topic followed, exceeding four hundred authors. Despite all this, the tide of ignorance still gnaws at the body of Islam, spreading rapidly like wildfire. The warning of danger has reached its peak, and people, faced with these storms and currents, fall into three categories: 1. A group of ignorant followers of every deceiver, unconcerned about their religion, their only concern being their food and drink. 2. A group filled with grief, sorrow, sadness, and distress from what they see of women’s unveiling, their revealing, and their mixing with foreign men in gatherings and markets and their work. 3. A group of ignorant scholars who call for unveiling and revealing, loving from the depths of their hearts to emulate the disbelievers in all their vices, corruption, moral decay, and releasing women from Islamic restrictions. You see them arguing with falsehood to refute the truth. Sometimes they justify their claim by saying: Women are not Awrah, and it is permissible to uncover her in front of the majority. Sometimes they say: There is a difference of opinion, and disputed issues have no denial. Other times, they justify their claims with authentic hadiths that are not explicit, or with false hadiths that are not authentic and cannot be used as evidence. When I saw the matter reaching this miserable state, I wanted to review the sayings of the scholars and their evidence. After examining and scrutinizing the opinions, statements, and evidence, and seeking correctness, I found that women’s unveiling and their revealing their faces among foreign men is an unacceptable and false statement. The correct and sound opinion, which must not be abandoned, is that it is prohibited, based on the clear evidence from the Book, the Sunnah, and consensus, and the proper consideration that supports prohibition. I named it: "Comprehensive in what has been said about the issue of hijab, incidents, and completion of benefit," adding to it the narrations about the virtue of raising daughters, the reward for those who do so, and the narrations about not marrying them except with their consent, with consultation and permission. I ask Allah that it be purely for His Face, correct in His Law, beneficial to me and those who reach it from Muslims. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the Respondent. May Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, companions, and those who follow his way. Written by Farih bin Saleh Al-Buhail On 30/07/1425 AH
