In the Pre-Islamic era, he was the "A'innah," meaning he was the supreme leader of Quraysh cavalry in all wars and invasions. He fought in Islam under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and demonstrated remarkable bravery and extraordinary heroism, which led the Prophet to nickname him "Sword of Allah."
