Authored by Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Hajri The Consolation of the Questioners: Explanation of the Method of the Pathseekers Introduction to the Second Edition In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Praise be to Allah, the Possessor of Glory and Majesty. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, the Great, the Exalted. And I bear witness that our Prophet Muhammad, His servant and Messenger, is of noble character. Upon him, his family, his companions, and those who follow him until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows: This is the second edition of the book (The Consolation of the Questioners: Explanation of the Method of the Pathseekers) after the first edition was exhausted in a short time. The second edition has been distinguished by the following: 1 - Attributing the Quranic verses by mentioning the name of the Surah and the verse number. 2 - Authenticating the Hadiths and the sayings; if the Hadith is in the two Sahihs or one of them, that suffices. Otherwise, I have sourced it from the trusted books, with clarification of the grade of the Hadiths and sayings in terms of authenticity and weakness, relying on the opinions of scholars in this regard. 3 - Explaining the linguistic and technical meanings. 4 - Indicating the disputed issues and attributing them to their original sources, each school of thought according to its own. 5 - Attributing the sayings to their speakers. 6 - A brief translation of the notable figures other than the Prophets, peace be upon them, the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the ten who were promised Paradise, and similar figures. 7 - Correcting typographical errors. 8 - Placing the main text at the top of the page, consistent with the explanation. 9 - Publishing the book in the finest form, in terms of paper quality and font formatting. I ask Allah to benefit from this knowledge, to grant us the ability to act upon it, and to make it purely for His Face, the Most Generous. And from the deeds that do not cease after death: whatever is correct is from Allah alone, and whatever is wrong is from myself and Satan. Allah and His Messenger are innocent of it. I hope that those who read it will pray for their brother in unseen supplication, and that they will guide me to correct any faults found therein. May Allah's peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions, and those who follow them until the Day of Judgment.
