Introduction to the book "Al-Ishraf"
Written by Dr. Suleiman Al-Muhanna
God, the Most High, has commanded the separation and disagreement in religion, and prohibited all ways and causes leading to it. The texts from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah warn against division and disagreement, and clarify their bad consequences. Allah, the Almighty, said:
"And do not be like those who divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And those will have a great punishment. The Day when faces will be white and faces will be black. As for those whose faces turn black, they will be told, 'Did you disbelieve after your belief? So taste the punishment for what you used to disbelieve.' And those whose faces turn white—they will be in the mercy of Allah, therein they will abide."
And Allah, the Most High, said:
"Indeed, those who divided their religion and became sects—you are not from them in anything. Their affair is only with Allah; then He will inform them of what they used to do."
