To the honorable Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Khudair
The word of the institution Maalim Al-Sunan
Praise be to Allah, who raised with knowledge its people and chose them, and inherited them the knowledge of the Book, and with Him they were chosen, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions from their beginning to their end, and upon the followers and those who follow them with goodness until the Day of Judgment and they follow them. As for after:
What is not hidden from anyone is the high status of scholars, and their glorious position, the sky, and the adornment of the world, they are the heirs of the prophets, and stars, and they are the pillars of religion. Abu al-Darda? narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever takes a path seeking knowledge, Allah will ease for him a path to Paradise. And the angels lower their wings in satisfaction with the seeker of knowledge. And the seeker of knowledge is sought forgiveness for him by those in the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the water. And the virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is like the moon over the other planets. The scholars are the heirs of the prophets. The prophets did not inherit dinar nor dirham, but they inherited knowledge. So whoever takes it, takes a share abundant." The scholars who dedicated their time to teaching and spreading knowledge, the virtue Sheikh and the scholar Abdul Karim bin Abdullah Al-Khudair - may Allah preserve him and benefit him - whom the people of knowledge and students know for his mastery, breadth, good investigation, and extensive knowledge. Allah granted the Sheikh long ago the ability to explain the books of the people of knowledge in various sciences and to comment on them with comprehensive and beneficial explanations, enriched by his broad outlook and knowledge of the contents of the books—especially the lengthy ones—and his desire for ease in explaining the Qawaa'id of Tafsir. His editions; which made these explanations popular among students of knowledge of different levels. Also, Allah prepared the Maalim Al-Sunan Foundation to serve and spread the knowledge of Sheikh and to publish it, since its establishment in 1433 AH, through various available means, and now—thanks to Allah—it heralds to students of knowledge and lovers the printing of: "Raghbat Al-Taysir in explaining the Qawaa'id of Tafsir."
It is worth noting that this book is not authored by the Sheikh himself, but it is an audio explanation that has been transcribed, organized, and scientifically served after the Sheikh’s permission. Due to the extreme difficulty of converting audio output into printed books, and in recognition of the responsibility entrusted to the institution, and seeking perfection without pretension, the institution devised a renewed plan—approved by the Sheikh—to produce books of high quality that satisfy—by Allah’s permission—students of knowledge and lovers. The stages of work were as follows:
First: Transcribing the audio explanation and matching it.
Second: Arranging the explanation to suit the book, without altering the Sheikh’s words, especially in this book—adding the additions from the Sheikh’s explanation of the part related to Tafsir sciences from "Al-Nuqayah" by Al-Suyuti. When there are confusing issues, they are presented to the Sheikh—may Allah preserve him.
Third: Extracting Hadiths and narrations, attributing sayings and schools of thought to their owners, and providing scientific service to the book.
Fourth: Linguistic review of the book and ensuring the accuracy of the text from grammatical and spelling errors that may occur during work, to ensure correctness.
Fifth: Reviewing the book by a specialist in the field of explanation to verify the scientific correctness of the material after the work has been done by researchers.
Sixth: Approving the book for printing by the Foundation’s scientific advisors.
In this joyful occasion of printing this book, we thank the Sheikh—may Allah preserve him—for what he has presented and still presents to students of knowledge. May Allah grant him great reward, multiply his reward, bless his knowledge, work, and life, and benefit Islam and Muslims with his knowledge. We also thank the work team at Maalim Al-Sunan Foundation for their great effort in producing the book, and we thank the scientific advisors and the specialized reviewers at the Foundation, and everyone who contributed and participated in producing the book. We also thank Dar Al-Tasheel, the Center for Research and Information Technology, for carrying out the second and third stages of this work. May Allah reward them all with goodness and bless their efforts.
And thanks are also extended to the endowments of Sheikh Muhammad bin Ali for their keenness on spreading Islamic knowledge through supporting the printing of this book. We ask Allah for success and guidance, and we call on all scholars and students of knowledge wherever they are to extend a helping hand with advice and to hasten to provide observations and suggestions regarding any errors that may occur in the printed and to-be-printed explanations of the Sheikh. Man is often helped by his brothers, and Allah is the grant of success that He blesses efforts and accepts them.
All praise be to Allah, by whose blessings good deeds are completed, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions.
