The Method of Prophetic Education for the Child with Practical Models from the Lives of the Salaf Mohammad Nour Abdul Hafeez Volume 437, Pages Shamawa Paper This book in the hands of the reader is one of those valuable books that focused on a specific aspect of the Prophetic Sunnah and the Prophetic guidance, which is "Prophetic Education for the Child." And although it was written about religious education and Prophetic education, it has not been written — to the extent of knowledge — about Prophetic education for the child, which is an important, independent, vital aspect of Prophetic guidance in raising the youth. The author addressed it with the believer's faith, the sound thinking of the scholar, deep insight, and the organized taste of an engineer, and structured it into several chapters, arranged in sequence: a chapter with his advice to parents, a chapter on the rights of the infant child, and a chapter on building the child's personality from weaning until puberty, which is the most important chapter of the book and the core of child upbringing. The author based it on fundamentals of doctrinal, worship, social, moral, emotional, intellectual, physical, sexual, and health building. He also dedicated a special chapter to guiding the child to obey and honor the parents and care for their rights, and another chapter on Prophetic educational methods that influence the child's mind and soul. Then he concluded these chapters with a special chapter on disciplining the child. The author concluded his research with two forty-collections of hadiths: the first directed to fathers, and the second directed to children. The author relied in his research on trustworthy sources: in education, Sunnah, interpretation, jurisprudence, history, الدعوة (call to Islam), the Islamic world, and Islamic culture, and he attributed each source he took from and documented everything he said. He supported every educational idea he saw and recorded with the noble hadith, the practices of the Salaf, and the methods of the righteous scholars and educators from the أهل العلم (people of knowledge). He built his educational theories for the child on established religious facts, inherited historical events, and scenes observed by Islamic educators. This resulted in much admiration, to the point that his book almost became a comprehensive religious educational encyclopedia for the child, and an index of most of what is mentioned in the noble Sunnah, the آثار (sayings and actions) of the righteous predecessors, and the methods of educators in raising the Muslim child.
