They worked to distort the texts and remove them from their legitimate framework into different meanings under the guise of reform and renewal. They claim — supposedly — that they reject religious extremism and religious commitment!! They repeat that they only want the true Islam! The Islam that is compatible with civilization, progress, and aligns with Western civilization!! Among these calls is what is known as the modernist trend in reading the discourse or the Quranic text. This trend does not accept any authority governing reading, interpretation, or ta'wil — including the scientific controls rooted in the books of Quranic sciences and principles of jurisprudence — except the authority of the reader of the Quranic text and their absolute freedom in interpreting it. This is a clear call from the modernist trend to re-read the interpretive heritage of the Quran with new approaches based on Western methodologies, freeing Muslims from their illusions, liberating them from their restrictions, and interpreting the Quran rationally to align with the latest Western theories. Because the enemies of religion have realized the impossibility of eradicating Islam and destroying its followers through force, they resorted to this cultural invasion to spread Western concepts and values, replacing Islam with them. They used those who pretend to be compassionate, sincere, and concerned for religion. They entered through this deviant path, spreading their myths about its truths to tarnish its beauty and distort its brilliance. All of this is a response to the pressures of reality. Unfortunately, their ideas have influenced some Muslims’ minds, leading them to be deceived by them. They believed that by showing Islam as they want, in accordance with Western desires, they could improve the image of Islam among modern cultural circles and encourage Westerners to embrace Islam. Perhaps they forgot that Islam is the true religion that governs people's beliefs and ideas, and it does not need validation from human whims and experiences.
