The compilation of Sheikh Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Khudair The word of the Foundation of the Sunnah Praise be to Allah, who raised His people with knowledge and chose them, and bequeathed them the knowledge of the Book, and with it He selected them, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions from their beginning to their end, and upon the followers and those who follow them with good until the Day of Judgment and their followers. As for what follows: It is not hidden from anyone the high status and noble position of the scholars, for they are the heirs of the prophets, the stars of the sky, the adornment of the world, and through them the religion is maintained. Abu Darda narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever takes a path seeking knowledge, Allah will ease for him a path to Paradise. The angels lower their wings in pleasure for the seeker of knowledge, and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth seek forgiveness for him, even the fish in the water. The virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is like the moon over the other planets. The scholars are the heirs of the prophets. The prophets did not leave gold or silver, but they left knowledge. Whoever takes it, takes a share abundant. Among the scholars who dedicated their time to teaching and spreading knowledge is the virtuous Sheikh, the scholar Abdul Karim bin Abdullah Al-Khudair — may Allah preserve him and benefit us through him. He is known among the scholars and students for his mastery, extensive knowledge, thorough investigation, and broad awareness. Allah granted the Sheikh long ago the ability to explain the books of the scholars in various sciences and to comment on them. He explained them with comprehensive, beneficial explanations, enriched by his extensive knowledge and understanding of the contents of the books — especially the lengthy ones — and the different editions, which made these explanations popular among students of knowledge of different levels. Allah also established the Foundation of the Sunnah to serve and spread the knowledge of Sheikh Al-Khudair since its founding in 1433 AH, through various electronic and satellite channels. Now, by Allah’s grace, it completes its initial phase with printed publications, to crown its projects and organize its bonds. It is worth noting that this book is not authored by the Sheikh, but rather an audio explanation that has been transcribed, organized, and served academically with the Sheikh’s permission. Due to the great difficulty of converting audio productions into printed books and the responsibility the foundation feels, seeking precision without undue effort, the foundation devised a renewed plan — approved by the Sheikh — to produce high-quality books that satisfy students and lovers of knowledge, God willing. The stages of working on Sheikh’s books are as follows: First: Describing the transcribed explanation from the audio and matching it. Second: Arranging the explanation to suit the book, without altering the Sheikh’s words. When there are confusing issues, they are presented to the Sheikh — may Allah preserve him. Third: Matching the text with the version of Majmoo’ al-Fatawa, King Fahd edition, printed by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, formatting it, and placing appropriate titles between brackets. Fourth: Extracting hadiths and sayings, attributing opinions and schools of thought to their owners, and providing scholarly service to the book. Fifth: Creating a detailed index of topics to facilitate access to scientific benefits for the reader. Sixth: Linguistic review of the book and ensuring the text is free from grammatical and spelling errors that may occur during work. Seventh: Reviewing the book by a specialist in the field being explained to ensure the scientific accuracy after the work has been reviewed by researchers. Eighth: Approving the book for printing by the foundation’s academic advisors. In this joyful occasion of printing this book, the noble comments on the Aqeedah Al-Wasitiya, we thank the Sheikh — may Allah preserve him — for his efforts and ongoing contributions to students of knowledge. May Allah grant him great reward, bless his knowledge, work, and life, and benefit Islam and Muslims with his knowledge. We also thank the working team at the Foundation of the Sunnah for their great effort in producing the book, and we thank the scientific advisors, reviewers, specialists, and everyone who contributed and participated in producing the book. May Allah reward them well and bless their work. Thanks are also extended to the pioneering institution: the Waqf of Saad and Abdulaziz Al-Mousa, for their contribution to supporting the publication of this book. We ask Allah for success and guidance, and we call upon all scholars and students wherever they are to extend a helping hand, to quickly provide feedback and suggestions regarding any errors that may occur in the printed or to-be-printed explanations of the Sheikh.
