The Illuminating Lamp in the Unfamiliar Terms of the Great Explanation | Abu al-Abbas Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Ali al-Maqri al-Fayoumi New, expanded, corrected, and reviewed edition based on the original handwriting of the compiler and the edition of the Board of Trustees Since the effort of al-Fayoumi was directed toward creating a linguistic dictionary that cares for the unfamiliar words and confusing expressions found in the book of Imam al-Rafi'i, Fath al-Aziz, he compiled a broad book and added to it additions from other sources. He collected from about seventy writings, both lengthy and concise, and elaborated in the book, mentioning the variations of words, similar and identical terms, grammatical analysis of examples, explanations of their meanings, and other matters that call for the skill of a proficient linguist. When he saw its large size and extensive content, he decided to abbreviate and refine it to make it easier to handle. It was made into the form of the book in our hands and named The Illuminating Lamp in the Unfamiliar Terms of the Great Explanation.
