Product description
Al-Jurjani, a book that discusses a science from the sciences of Hadith, which is the science of critique and modification, specializing in mentioning the names of weak narrators of Hadith and the opinions of trusted scholars in the science of critique and modification about them. This book is considered one of the most comprehensive books classified in the weak narrators and one of the most complete works authored by Ibn Adi in this field. This edition is a large book in which the compiler, Hafiz Ibn Adi (365 AH), tried to trace and encompass the names of all narrators of Hadith whom the imams of critique and modification have spoken about with Tadleef (weakening). He mentioned in the biography of each narrator what the scholars disapproved of in their Hadiths, or what they considered strange or suspicious.
The complete book of Ibn Adi is among the broadest classified books in the category of the weak, and one of the most complete works written in this area, surpassing other books on this subject such as the book of the Majrūhīn (the weak) by Ibn Hiban, and the large book of the Weak by Al-Aqili. Everyone who mentioned or spoke about this book called it "Al-Kamil," but they differed afterward in the rest of the name. Some called it "Al-Kamil fi al-Jarh wa al-Ta'deel" (The Complete in Critique and Modification), others called it "Al-Kamil fi Ma'rifat al-Du'afa" (The Complete in Knowing the Weak), and some added: "... and the abandoned narrators," some added: "... and the hadith's defects." Ibn Taymiyyah called it "Al-Kamil fi Asma' al-Rijal" (The Complete in the Names of Men).
It appears that some of these scholars looked at the subject of the book, so they mentioned it with different phrases but with the same meaning. Despite all this, the one who named it and explicitly stated in the introduction of his book that it is: "Al-Kamil fi Du'afa' al-Rijal" (The Complete in the Weak of Men).
