The Reform of Offspring: Features, Means, and Effects
Author: Prof. Dr. Suleiman bin Hamad Al-Ouda
Overview
The talk about (offspring) is a talk about the most precious possession a person owns in this world, understanding it as the adornment, beauty, and comfort of life. It is a great talk deserving effort, diligence, patience, and sacrifice.
It is a talk from a number of verses of the Noble Quran, and from several sayings of the Prophet ﷺ and narrations of his biography, which reveal his love and dealings with offspring, methods of upbringing and guidance, as well as the experiences of the righteous predecessors and successors in their upbringing, correction, and reform.
There is an urgent need to write about offspring, especially when an opportunity arises to reform them, and to explore methods of care and their means, to clarify the features of the prophetic Sunnah in their construction, the exemplary mothers, possible means of reform, answers to a number of critical questions, educational methods, how to utilize daily situations, and effective ways to understand and correct their behavior.
All of this cannot be achieved without knowing what the jurists have said about some of its issues, understanding them, and acting accordingly.
These are questions about reforming offspring in a century where evil has increased, guidance has diversified, and it is no longer confined to homes but extended to many influences and entry points.
How do we protect our children? How do we prepare them? What is the top priority? What is the real threat to them? And what is the most difficult role awaiting us?
Does this mean that we are living in a hopeless reality? Or can we, with "sincere intention, high determination, and an easy means," answer all these questions and similar ones?
We hope that the pages of this book will answer them.
