Forward Muhammad Sadiq bin Hassan bin Ali bin Lutf Allah Al-Qanouji Al-Bukhari Al-Husayni The Golden Comments on Al-Rawd Al-Nadi | Muhammad bin Sadiq bin Hassan bin Ali bin Lutf Allah Al-Qanouji Al-Bukhari Al-Husayni | Jamal Al-Din Al-Qasimi Al-Dimashqi | Ahmad Muhammad Shakir Al-Masri | Muhammad Nasser Al-Din Al-Albani It is a book that explains the jurisprudential issues whose evidence is authentic and the way is clear, leaving aside what was based purely on opinion, and it is a summary of old books. The author followed an easy style suitable for all students of knowledge, dividing it into chapters, and under each chapter, multiple sections according to jurisprudential topics. Jurisprudence is one of the important sciences; it is considered the goal of the sciences of tools, and its fruit is action. Work without jurisprudence is invalid; it is obligatory for every Muslim to acquire jurisprudence before acting. By jurisprudence, we mean the jurisprudence known to the jurists; knowing the practical Islamic rulings with evidence. Otherwise, linguistically, jurisprudence differs from its technical meanings. Linguistically, it is understanding, and from a legal perspective, jurisprudence is knowing everything that came from Allah – the Most High – whether in creed, actions, or morals. Everything brought by the Prophet, peace be upon him, is from jurisprudence. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to Ibn Abbas: [O Allah, give him understanding of the religion], meaning teach him your religion. Jurisprudence includes, from a legal perspective, knowledge of creed, knowledge, and the jurisprudence known to the jurists, as well as knowledge, morals, and manners; knowledge of everything that came in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace be upon him. In the context of law, jurisprudence means understanding the religion of Allah – the Most Blessed and High. As for jurisprudence among the usoolists (principles scholars): it is knowing the practical legal rulings from their detailed evidences. Thus, the jurist among the usoolists is someone who has the ability to deduce (ijtihad); this is called a jurist among the usoolists. But among the jurists, jurisprudence is broader; it is knowing the practical legal rulings with evidence, whether by deduction or necessity. All are called jurisprudence by the jurists. Jurisprudence among the jurists is broader than that among the usoolists. Al-Shawkani: He is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ali Al-Shawkani, then Al-San’ani, from the scholars of Yemen. He was born in 1172 AH and died in 1250 AH. He is among the scholars of hadith and among the late scholars. He has several writings, the most famous of which is "Nail Al-Otar" (The Nails of the Rulers), a commentary on "Muntaqa Al-Akhbar," a book that collected the hadiths of rulings, and was explained by Al-Shawkani – may Allah have mercy on him. Among his well-known writings is also this book in front of us, "Al-Durar Al-Bahiyyah" (The Beautiful Pearls), and he wrote a commentary on it called "Al-Durari Al-Mudi’ah" (The Shining Pearls). Al-Durar Al-Bahiyyah is a concise book in jurisprudence, in which the author gathered many jurisprudential chapters, whose evidences are authentic from the Book and Sunnah. It is a valuable and beneficial book – God willing – suitable for the beginner student in this field. The word "Durar" (pearls) is the plural of "Durr" (pearl), which is a magnificent and beautiful gem. And "Al-Bahiyyah" (the beautiful) is derived from "Al-Bahaa" (splendor); beauty and attractiveness. The book is distinguished by establishing the most correct opinion among the conflicting opinions with evidence, presenting jurisprudential issues in a clear and straightforward manner, and ignoring weak opinions.
