Authored by Bakr Abdullah Abu Zaid Authored by Bakr Abdullah Abu Zaid Editor/ Supervisor: Bakr bin Abdullah Abu Zaid Researcher/ Translator: None Publisher: Dar Al-Asimah - Riyadh First Edition Year of Printing: 1419 AH Main Classification: History Subclassification: Hajj - Standing at Arafat Summary: 1 - That this mountain has no name other than two: (Jabal Illal) and (Jabal Arafat), and anything else are newly invented names. 2 - This mountain has not been mentioned in the narrations from the noble Sunnah according to research. 3 - Consensus that this mountain has no virtue specific to it, nor is there a specific act of worship related to it. 4 - Many innovations and newly invented acts have been attached to it after the demise of the favored centuries until the present. 5 - The scholars' complaints, both in old times and recently, about the public's attachment to it, and the deaths, injuries, and wrongdoings resulting from that. 6 - Praise be to Allah, much of these innovations and newly invented acts have been removed, especially in this blessed era of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. May Allah strengthen us and them upon Islam and the Sunnah. 7 - It is necessary to remove the means of temptation associated with this mountain, which strongly encourage people to visit and worship there. Even acknowledging them, such as the staircase and the upright structure placed at the top of the mountain, contributes to sin because of the deaths, injuries, and wrongdoings that occur, as it is an acknowledgment of temptation and deception of pilgrims. For example, a nail was placed in the Kaaba, may Allah honor it, with the name (Sira Al-Dunya), which was removed centuries ago due to the obsession it caused. So, what is here should be similarly removed. 8 - Currently, it is being used as a shrine throughout the year, with people visiting it regularly, offering offerings, and at its top and slope, there are vendors selling water, drinks, prayer beads, and so on. People gather there, perform tawaf around it, pray upon it, etc. And these are among the causes of temptation and spreading the belief in it among scholars around the world. And Allah knows best His rulings.
