In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Presentation by the virtuous scholar: Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Saadi
And peace and blessings be upon His trustworthy servant and Messenger, who said: "Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding in religion." And upon his family and companions, the noble and righteous.
Afterward, our scholar, the knowledgeable Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Saadi, whom Allah granted understanding in religion, so that his main concern became most of his time—learning, teaching, studying, instructing, and authoring—one of his most important writings in jurisprudence is the book: "The Method of the Seekers and Clarification of Jurisprudence in Religion." This book is concise in wording but comprehensive in meaning. He paid attention to it before authoring it, cared for it during its compilation, and admired it after completing it. He used to praise it to his students, encouraging them to engage with it through memorization, study, learning, and teaching.
He wrote to me about it in a dated letter: 13th of Muharram, 1360 AH, and sent it to me in Abha when I was a judge there. He said about it: "We summarized it so that it became shorter than all the summaries you know, such as: the 'Mukhtasar Al-Muqqas,' 'Al-‘Umdat,' and the 'Aqsar Al-Mukhtasar,' which are all larger. We focused only on what is needed in each chapter. Despite that, it is clear and contains evidence."
...and so on. (End of quote.) From the beneficial answers, p. 90-91.
Among its virtues is that it limited itself to issues that frequently occur and that people need. It also pays attention to evidence without lengthy elaboration; sometimes, the issue is simply the text of the hadith related to it, making it both the evidence and the proof. Overall, the core of the book is more effective than its appearance. The book has been printed several times, but every copy contains errors, omissions, and rearrangements.
Therefore, the enthusiasm of the teacher: Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Khudairi, a lecturer at the College of Teachers in Riyadh, Department of Quranic Studies, was directed toward caring for it, printing, and publishing it after comparing it with two handwritten copies—one of which was photocopied from the author's own handwriting. This edition is considered the most authentic of this book, with high-quality printing, paper, binding, decorated with punctuation marks, pauses, divisions, referencing Quranic verses, authenticating Hadiths, explaining some obscure words, and marking them with diacritics. It also numbered its issues, starting each issue at the beginning of the line for clarity and ease of reference, with sequential numbering reaching 679. It also included the preferences of our scholar from his other books, whether they were additional, clarifications, or corrections, thus serving the book, its author, and its readers. He deserves the reward and the immediate and eternal goodness, God willing.
In the hadith: "Indeed, Allah enters three people into Paradise with one arrow: its maker, the one who shoots it, and the one who distributes it." (Reported by Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, and others). Therefore, I advise my brothers and my student children to pay attention to it, memorize it by heart, because it is considered the summary of summaries. And Allah grants success.
And peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and companions.
This was said by the poor servant of Allah, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Aziz bin Aqeel, former head of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Ifta.
