Summary and arrangement by Dr. Abdullah Saud Al-Tamimi
Part of the introduction
The fatwas of the Permanent Committee are characterized by clarity, ease of wording, precision of expression, and choosing the opinion supported by its evidence, without imitating a scholar or being restricted to a specific madhhab, with care to cite authentic hadiths.
Methodology in the book:
1 - The fatwas were divided after collecting them from the three collections of the Committee’s fatwas into appropriate topics, excluding fatwas related to minorities or issues unknown in our community, such as some customs or innovations in other communities.
2 - Questions and all details that do not influence the fatwa were deleted; where necessary, I linked fatwas related to the same topic by summarizing, arranging, and rephrasing them.
3 - If needed, I structured them into one coherent format while maintaining the wording of the fatwa as it came, as much as I could, and I excluded questions and answers that do not directly relate to the topics of Ramadan.
4 - I grouped lengthy topics into two or three sessions, depending on the need, and each session was followed by the phrase "And there is more to come" to indicate that the rulings on this topic continue in the next session.
5 - I did not attribute the sessions to their original sources from the fatwas because the fatwas are categorized and arranged in the original, and referring back to them is easy.
6 - I did not mention the attribution of the verses nor the derivation of hadiths or آثار (sayings or reports) to save space, especially since the Committee’s evidence is based on hadiths and آثار that are of the level of authentic evidence. Those interested can refer to the original for that.
I concluded each session as the fatwas of the Committee are usually concluded, and I ask Allah for success.
May Allah send peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and companions.
The reader may notice two things:
First, there is some lengthy content in some parts and brief in others, which is due to the fatwas themselves; in some topics, they are brief and concise, while in others, they are detailed and extensive.
Second, there is repetition of issues in some topics, which is due to their recurrence in the fatwas; this is good because it gathers related discussions in one place.
My noble Sheikh and father, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Sheikh, honored me by allowing me to read the book to him, then kindly prepared the introduction. May Allah reward him best, grant him full health, and bless him.
In conclusion, I thank Allah for ease and completion, and I thank everyone who helped with advice or counsel.
I ask Allah to reward our scholars and sheikhs abundantly, to do good to them, and to make this work purely for His Face.
May Allah send peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.
