Introduction to the Principles of the Recitations Introduction to the Principles of the Recitations From the book "Guidance for the Reader in Achieving the Features of the Recitation Places" The Imam of the Reciters: Abu Al-Absab Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Samati Al-Esbali, famous as Ibn Al-Tahhan (561 AH) Recitation and commentary by Dr. Tawfiq Ahmed Al-Aqbi Indeed, every science has its language for expressing its concept and benefiting from its intended meaning, and scholars have drawn boundaries, clarified biographies, crafted definitions, and explained terminologies in the fundamentals of the sciences, which they have entrusted to universities, with the various titles and types. This introduction was well done by its author, Imam Ibn Al-Tahhan, who provided a comprehensive and inclusive definition of the principles of recitation upon which the recitation is based. The author indicated in his preface that he has identified twenty principles, arranged as they appeared in his collection. The author affirms that the concept of the recitation terminology is only realized and governed by the recitation and the transmission. He sought other methods in the definition for the purpose of clarification and elucidation, defining the term considering its subject and goal. He also adopted the approach of dividing the definition, clarifying with the more apparent synonym, and sometimes inclined to define by negation instead of affirmation. He also arranged the contexts of some terms' usage in lessons and teaching. In the introduction, there are old terms that may have been forgotten over time, which he began with a brief definition of his biography, a short discussion of some related matters, as is customary in scientific works of this kind.
