Prepared by Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Hujailan Fiqh and the Fuqaha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the reign of King Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Part: Introduction to the second edition Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the best of mankind, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his pure and good family, and upon his noble and virtuous companions, and upon the followers and those who follow them with goodness until the Day of Judgment. To proceed: One of Allah’s blessings upon the servant is to grant him success in serving knowledge and its students, and to spend his most precious time in this matter, then to benefit people from his work. Since I previously authored and published this book through Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, that noble and blessed scientific edifice, in the year 1421 AH – 2000 AD, under the title "Islamic Fiqh during the reign of King Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him." And since more than seven years have passed since that publication, and during this period I received several observations, corrections, suggestions, and additions from some virtuous brothers, students of knowledge, and also some new publications that provided me with new information. There is a desire to re-publish the book in a broader and more comprehensive manner, especially since it deals with a branch of Islamic sciences that people need, during a significant period when a righteous king took on the responsibility of caring for knowledge and scholars, making the Shariah a guiding and constitutional source. That king was King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him. Therefore, I resolved, relying on Allah, to print the book for the second time. This edition has been distinguished by many important modifications, additions, and corrections, the most prominent of which is the renaming of the book to "Fiqh and the Fuqaha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the reign of King Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him."
