To proceed: I have reviewed the book: "Music and Song Between Entertainment and Warning" by our brother in Allah, the caller and scholar Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Hamid Al-Atri; may Allah preserve him, guide his steps, and grant him success in what He loves and is pleased with. I found that his work attempts to compile what has been mentioned regarding the prohibition of singing and music from the verses of the Qur'an, the sayings of the Prophet of Allah, and from the sayings of the noble companions, the great followers, the opinions of the eminent jurists, and the fatwas of their scholars from the old and the modern. He has excelled and benefited in this compilation and writing, and has done well in organization and arrangement, detailing what is needed from issues to detail, and establishing what is necessary from rulings to foundation. Thus, his book is valuable in its field, distinguished among its peers and surroundings. May Allah benefit from it and make it a barrier against what has spread among the youth of this era from committing the sin of listening to frivolous talk from immoral songs and deceptive music. May it be one of the means for the Muslims to attain what Allah is pleased with and what makes Him happy, in their world and hereafter — by preserving their time, and caring to direct it towards reciting the Book of their Lord, listening to it with reflection and remembrance, and reading the sayings of their Prophet, his fragrant biography, and taking lessons, being admonished, and acting upon them.
