Introduction
Indeed, all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and from our bad deeds. Whom Allah guides, there is no misleader for him; and whom He misleads, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
As for what follows:
This is a remarkable book, from its very name having the greatest share; it is "Abundant Benefits and Rare Scientific Wit," containing deep insights into the meanings of truths, clarifications of the wisdom of Sharia in various topics, most notably the Noble Quran and Islamic jurisprudence, with a focus on explaining the most subtle details that are hidden from most people, linking them to the awakening of the heart and the self.
And due to the high stature of its author in various sciences and arts:
The book serves as a comprehensive landmark, containing a great deal of scientific knowledge...
Because the author and the book are of such benefit and usefulness:
I saw the necessity of publishing it and the obligation of verifying it, due to the respect and reverence for its benefits and the increase in its usefulness.
And so that the reader can easily grasp the benefits from it with ease and simplicity, I arranged it according to the doors of knowledge, starting with creed, then tafsir, then hadith... and so forth; since the book in its original form lacks order, making it difficult to harvest the fruit from its tree of benefits for the gatherer.
The hope is from Allah, the Most High, to achieve this purpose and reach this good goal; indeed, He — exalted is His status — is the answerer of those who call upon Him and the responder to those who hope in Him.
And our last supplication is praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
This is by Ta’balī bin Hassan Al-Halabi Al-Athari.
