Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and prayers and peace and blessings be upon the sent Prophet, a mercy to the worlds; our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family, companions, and followers until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: It is known that the definition of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah and his Hadith among the scholars of Hadith is: "What is added to the Prophet of Allah in words, actions, reports, or descriptions of his physical or moral characteristics," which includes everything authentic reported from the companions of the Messenger, peace be upon him, regarding the clarification of his beautiful physical traits that Allah created him with, and his great moral qualities that Allah granted him the ability to embody.
These beautiful traits and noble morals are spread throughout the collections of Sunnah, from authentic hadiths, books of Sunan, Musnad, and others, and have been compiled separately in dedicated works. The most famous of these is the book "Al-Shama'il" by Imam Tirmidhi, the author of "Al-Jami'," who passed away in 279 AH. It was a great reference in its subject, and scholars of Hadith have long paid special attention to it, both historically and in modern times.
May Allah grant success to the dear son, Abdul Rizak — may Allah preserve his success and make him happy in this world and the Hereafter — for explaining this precious book and clarifying its meanings. I have reviewed parts of it and found it a beneficial explanation. I advise students of knowledge to read this book, study its explanation, and benefit from it in knowledge and morals.
The benefit of knowing his physical traits is to understand the appearance of his noble countenance and his radiant face, and to distinguish in dream visions between truthful visions that match what is authentic from his companions, which Satan cannot imitate, and false dream visions.
As for the benefit of knowing his moral qualities, it is to learn about the noble manners Allah honored him with, which Allah praised in Him by saying: "And indeed, you are of a great moral character" [Qalam], and to work on embodying these morals as a means of following him, as Allah, the Most High, said: "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much" [Al-Ahzab].
It is the right of his nation that tongues be moist with praise for him in a manner befitting him, while being cautious of excessiveness that Allah and His Messenger do not approve of, and praising his Sunnah, clarifying its virtues, and emphasizing the people's need to adhere to it. The tongues should also be moist with prayers and peace upon him, peace be upon him.
I ask Allah to grant everyone success in what pleases Him, and to help students of knowledge to engage with the Book and Sunnah and the way of the righteous predecessors, and to act accordingly so that they may attain happiness in this world and the Hereafter.
May Allah's peace and blessings be upon His servant and Messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions altogether.
Abdul Mohsin bin Hamad Al-Abbad Al-Badr
