Blake’s Tyger embodies both the qualities I wanted to depict: grandeur and irresistibly attractive on one side, and terrible and frightening on the other. The "fearful symmetry" — the character attributed to the tiger — appropriately represents this opposition to beautiful perfection and horror. The perfume is built around an accord of intoxicating white flowers with sweet aspects, which also includes a note of musk ambrette — like Prima Donna, the heroine of a dramatic piece, it is the best example of an elegant civilization from a past world; in contrast, the main ingredients offer a different kind of wood, with some burnt and leathery qualities, hinting at a post-apocalyptic scenario of destruction, mystery, and darkness. The result of these parts — which do not work individually — is a sparkling and luminous perfume that gives me an exciting sense of highly dramatic evolution — a kind of conflicting emotion that anything attractive inside me stirs.
