Design Story | The Gateway & The Ambassador

The Gateway: Bab Jadeed

In 1935 (1354 AH), under the decree of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, "Bab Jadeed" (The New Gate) was opened as the final addition to Jeddah’s ancient walls. Designed with a grand archway to welcome the first motor vehicles, it marked a new era of modernization.

The Ambassador: The First Stamp

During this era, postal systems were unified, and the first Saudi stamp was issued as "Hejaz and Najd." These stamps became the Kingdom’s "traveling ambassadors," carrying the message of a unified nation to the entire world.

The Design

This piece celebrates that historic moment, blending the architectural strength of Bab Jadeed with the intricate detail of the first Saudi stamp. A modern legacy born from the heart of Old Historical Jeddah.
