Phoenix roebelenii

Phoenix palm plant is close to date palm, it is a large palm tree with dark green spreading leaves that elegantly curve from its attractive and strong trunk, and during the hot summer season, clusters of cream yellow flowers may appear hanging. Phoenix palm plant is an excellent evergreen plant for the courtyard or winter garden, it reduces the water table and can change the shape of sand dunes by accumulating sand around its roots, leading to erosion in other areas. The seeds spread through birds, water, and local seed fall. A large palm can grow up to 18 meters and is characterized by a strong trunk and long dark green curved fronds on sharp leaf stalks. It is easy to cultivate as it thrives in a protected site under full sun with some shade at noon. It is best planted in the courtyard in a large pot and placed under cover in winter when it is growing moderately, and fed with a balanced fertilizer once a month.
