The Arucaria plant, commonly called the Monkey Puzzle Tree or Chilean Pine, is an evergreen conifer native to volcanic slopes in forests reaching up to 6000 feet in the Andes Mountains in Chile and Argentina, and it is the national tree of Chile. The Arucaria plant as a small, evergreen indoor plant with sword-like leaves that turn inward in an interwoven zigzag pattern on tiered branches. These plants grow well in bright light indoors as well as when away from direct bright sunlight, and they prefer cool temperatures and good light, where owners should provide a place with high humidity and shelter from winter. This tree is pest-free and does not require additional water for growth, but watering with enough water is important, so a regular watering schedule should be maintained to keep the soil moist. Additionally, we recommend applying complex fertilizers during the summer once every 2-3 weeks, and there is no need to feed it during winter.
