How to use Kozar 50 mg tablets
Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.
Try to take your daily dose at approximately the same time each day.
Continue taking Losartan until your doctor tells you otherwise.
The treatment usually starts with 50 mg of Losartan (one 50 mg tablet) once daily.
The blood pressure-lowering effect is usually reached after 3-6 weeks of starting treatment.
In some patients, the dose can later be increased to 100 mg of Losartan (two 50 mg tablets) once daily.
Losartan is not recommended for children under 6 years old, as its effectiveness has not been proven in this age group.
Children aged 6 to 18 years: the recommended starting dose for patients weighing between 20 and 50 kg is 0.7 mg of Losartan per kg of body weight, given once daily.
The doctor may increase the dose if blood pressure is not controlled.
Dose adjustments may be made in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions.
If you take more than the prescribed dose, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
