Zovirax syrup contains Acyclovir, an effective antiviral against infections caused by the herpes virus, chickenpox, and shingles. The medication works by preventing the replication of viruses inside cells, reducing the severity of symptoms and speeding up recovery. Indications for use (Zovirax syrup): Treatment of chickenpox in children and adults. Treatment of shingles (herpes zoster). Treatment of some types of ulcers and genital herpes. Prevention of infection in immunocompromised patients. Method of use: Take the syrup orally with precise dosage measurement. It is preferable to start treatment as soon as possible after symptoms appear. Ensure at least a 4-hour interval between doses. In case of missed dose, take it immediately upon remembering unless it is close to the time for the next dose. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one. Possible side effects: Headache and dizziness. General fatigue, nausea, or diarrhea. Skin reactions or photosensitivity. Rare allergic symptoms: rash, swelling, difficulty breathing. Warnings and precautions: Do not use if allergic to acyclovir or valacyclovir. Consult a doctor before use if you have kidney problems or are over 65 years old. Inform the doctor of all medications you are taking, such as probenecid, cimetidine, and mycophenolate mofetil. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
