Losartan is used to treat high blood pressure, treat kidney diseases in people with type 2 diabetes, and reduce the risk of stroke in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy and high blood pressure. What are the contraindications of Surtiva? The use of Losartan should be avoided in cases of hypersensitivity to any of the medication's components. What are the precautions for using Surtiva? Care should be taken and a doctor or pharmacist consulted when using Losartan in the following cases: Low blood pressure / slow heartbeat: A sharp decrease in blood pressure, slow heartbeat, or angina may occur with increased blood pressure. Orthostatic hypotension may also occur. Losartan should be used with extreme caution in cases of myocardial infarction and suspected right ventricular infarction. Increased potassium levels: Blood pressure, kidney functions, and potassium levels in the blood should be monitored regularly when taking this medication, as it may cause increased potassium levels in some patients. Decline in kidney function: This medication may cause a decline in kidney function and/or increased creatinine levels, especially in patients with decreased renal blood flow (renal artery stenosis, heart failure). Use with caution in the following cases: Aortic/mitral stenosis: Use cautiously in patients with significant stenosis of the aortic or mitral valve. Heart failure. Liver dysfunction. Hypovolemia. Phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (such as Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadalafil, or Vardenafil). Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as Diclofenac or Ibuprofen.
