Folicum 1mg tablets Active ingredient: Folic acid 1 mg Treatment of anemia caused by folate deficiency or increased folate utilization in the body, as in pregnancy. Folic acid, also known as folates and folacin, from dietary sources, helps support normal nervous system function and plays an important role in the proper development of the child's nervous system. Taking prenatal vitamins with 400 micrograms of folic acid before and during pregnancy can help prevent birth defects in your baby's brain and spinal cord. Folic acid has also been suggested to reduce the risks of: pregnancy complications, heart diseases, and stroke. Usage instructions: 1 mg daily for 4 months, which can be increased up to a maximum of 15 mg per day. Warnings and precautions: Do not take folic acid tablets and inform your doctor if you have: Allergy (hypersensitivity) to folic acid or any other ingredients in the tablets (see section 6) Untreated vitamin B12 deficiency, as in some types of anemia and lifelong vegetarians Malignant anemia (a form of anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency) or another condition resulting from vitamin B12 deficiency
