Devasalick ointment 30, active substance This product consists of two active ingredients; betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid. Betamethasone dipropionate belongs to a class of medications called "topical corticosteroids" that work to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin. Salicylic acid is a medication that works by softening the top layer of scales on the skin surface, allowing betamethasone dipropionate to reach the affected area beneath the scales to help recover from the skin condition. This product is used to treat adults and children with skin problems involving a layer of scales covering the affected skin. This product will help reduce itching and redness in your skin and remove the layer of scales. How to use betamethasone dipropionate / salicylic acid: Adults: Apply a thin layer of the ointment and gently massage it into the affected area and surrounding skin twice daily (morning and evening). Children: The recommended dose is the same as for adults. Using an incorrect amount of this medication or using it for a prolonged period may cause hormonal changes in your child, rarely leading to moon face or moon face, delayed growth and development, pressure buildup in the brain area which can cause bulging of the fontanel (soft spot on top of the skull) in infants, persistent headache, and vision problems (such as blurred vision). When using this ointment in children, ensure it is not used for more than 5 days. Usage instructions: Wash your hands before and after using the ointment. Make sure to replace the cap on the tube after use to avoid leakage. Follow the instructions in this leaflet unless your doctor or pharmacist advises otherwise. Ask the pharmacist or doctor if you are unsure. Keep the ointment away from your eyes. Do not apply the ointment under a bandage (such as a dressing or plaster) or under your child's diaper to prevent excessive absorption of the medication and subsequent unwanted side effects. Do not apply a large amount of this ointment on large areas of the body for a long time (e.g., daily for several weeks or months). Do not use this ointment on your face for more than 5 days. Do not use this ointment on skin wounds, large areas of skin, or skin folds (such as behind the knees). Warnings and precautions: Stop using the medication immediately and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any allergy or skin reactions to any of the ingredients in this ointment, such as itching, redness, shortness of breath, rash, facial or neck swelling, low blood pressure, or dizziness. This medication is for external topical use only. Do not swallow this product. Avoid contact of the ointment with lips, eyes, mouth, sensitive areas of the neck, and nostrils to prevent irritation. In case of accidental contact, rinse the area thoroughly with warm water and leave it to dry. Tell your doctor if you have psoriasis before using this medication. Other medications and betamethasone dipropionate / salicylic acid: Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medications, including topical products. Storage instructions for betamethasone dipropionate / salicylic acid: Keep out of reach of children and pets. Store in a dry place below 25°C. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the ointment.
