Otrivin nasal spray uses Otrivin 0.1% nasal spray, a fixed-dose spray for different types of cold symptoms. It is designed for the nasal passages where it has a vasoconstrictive effect, thereby relieving nasal and throat mucous membrane congestion. This effect allows patients suffering from a cold to breathe more easily through the nose. Otrivin starts to work within a few minutes and lasts for several hours. Otrivin contains ingredients that help prevent dryness of the nasal mucosa thanks to its extended effect. Usage instructions: For adults and children over 6 years: One spray of Otrivin fixed-dose 0.1% in each nostril: enough 4 times a day. Warnings and precautions: If you have undergone head surgery, it is up to your doctor to determine if you can use Otrivin or not. Otrivin should not be used in cases of dry nasal mucosa or closed-angle glaucoma, and should not be used with patients allergic to any of Otrivin’s components. As with other medical products for cold treatment, Otrivin can cause sleep problems, vision issues, or dizziness episodes, which are signs of allergy to this product. Otrivin should be used with caution in cases of high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes. Otrivin should not be used for more than a week without medical advice.
