Product description
This coffee was produced by a group of farmers from the Maliba project located on the plateaus of Mount Rwenzori, which has a certificate of sustainable agriculture from UTZ, and with the help of the Export Center, the members of the project benefited from educational, educational and motivational programs to improve the quality of crops that contributed to raising the cup rating from 70 points to 84 points according to the standard World Specialty Coffee Association, allowing them to get better returns when they produce better crops. The project is currently converting to certified organic farming as well.
Families also grow other crops such as oranges, sugar cane, cotton, bananas and pineapple to diversify their sources of income for themselves and their families. Farmers and their families help each other during the days of harvest and processing.
Ripe coffee cherries are taken and placed in water containers to sort out what floats from it and is considered to be of lower quality.
The coffee has been awarded the 'Quality Coffee' standard by the prestigious AFCA Taste of the African Crop programme.
The flavors of this coffee are fruity with a full and clear texture, simulating chocolate, red grapes and berries.
After removing the husks, wrap them in specialty coffee storage bags before canning them in burrs.
Suitable for filtered or steeped coffee, such as Cavalano Compact, Aeropress, and cold brew, or with milk due to its clear texture, suitable for a distinctive cortado cup.
