The shaved head, by: Jesús Fernández Santos

In this book, images from the world of childhood in its openness to the world of adults, snapshots of the lives of children receiving their first lessons in the school of life and survival, and for the first time peering from a crack in their reality and ages at the world of adults and the horizons of the future drawn by a significant historical and social phase, the Spanish Civil War: joy and play and drinking and singing and war atmospheres and the roar of bombs. A father's waiting that will not return, abandonment of homes, displacement from dwellings, crossing lines. Life in shelters and life in mines, dreams of youth, and adolescent love.
