Product description
The book "Prose Works" by the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish is limited to collecting prose works and some of what Darwish wrote of articles, reflections, and letters over decades of the last century. The book shows Darwish's adherence to his Palestinian Arab identity, and his affirmation that no matter what the occupation does, it cannot erase the Palestinian memory, in addition to his praise for resilience and practical resistance to the occupation through its various means. The reader feels in many writings recorded decades ago that they were written in the present time. The book includes a large number of Mahmoud Darwish's prose works throughout his life. Most of the writings deal with issues, events, and positions related to various social, cultural, and political occasions experienced by the writer. However, the prose works mainly focus on the Palestinian concern under occupation in general, racism, and the challenges faced by Palestinians inside, as well as the failure of attempts to "Arabize" them and their adherence to their cultural and Arab identity.
