Product description
The relationship between philosophy and literature is a close relationship we witness in the philosophical implications in many literary works of some of the great writers, and we know that some writers were themselves professional philosophers, and there are many examples of that; however, the nature and boundaries of the relationship between literature and philosophy have remained a problematic field from the Greek era until today. I am pleased to present a translation of the wonderful dialogue about the nature of the relationship between literature and philosophy, which was conducted by the famous British philosopher Bryan Magee with the late novelist-philosopher Iris Murdoch, and I have previously addressed aspects of the thought of this distinguished philosopher in a previous dialogue published in Al-Mada; as for Bryan Magee, he is a British philosopher, politician, poet, writer, and television presenter born in 1930, known for his significant contributions in introducing philosophy to the general public and making it a subject with strong popular followership, and he has many publications in this field. This dialogue was broadcast on the British television cultural program in 1978. (Translated) Lutfiya Al-Dulaimi. Number of pages: 71
